The Santa Cruz Art Museum invited me to show with my friend Marc D'Stout, in an exhibition entitled "Gimmee Shelter" in 2003. It seemed natural to venture into making a tea room, having admired these spaces for so long. The room was a 5-mat tea room, with a tokonoma and several sliding doors. All the panels were painted or covered with my large format digital collages. I also designed the large plastic laminate panels with the octopus and bamboo imagery: these were printed by Wilsonart®.
