In this work for this exhibition, the mirror reflects memory – or the lack of thereof. In order to achieve what I want to accomplish, I collaborated with finishing specialist Greg Johnson to create a long horizontal, highly reflective black lacquered panel: it is very smooth and mirror-like at one end and the surface will ‘ripple’ as it moves to the other end so the reflection will be more distorted. There is a curious frame that supports an odd translucent “door" that moves across part of the face and has no reference to anything and is a puzzling addition to this piece.
